Hydrapple EX Deck Profile

Hydrapple EX Deck Profile

Fall’s here, and of course that means that we have to build out the cute lil apple dragon – Hydrapple EX!

This has been one of my most anticipated decks as Stellar Crown was rolling out, and it did not disappoint. I’m still having tons of fun playing it at locals and on the ladder online.

The secondary attacker is also the draw engine and helps to set up your board for your main attacker late game? Yes, please! The only problems I’ve really run into is if you only have Applin as a single basic when setting up, can’t get the resources in your hand to get another basic, and if you’re going first… yikes. For my opponent: easiest. dunk. ever.

Strategy:

To get to Teal Mask Ogrepon as fast as possible and start drawing through the deck. Bonus points if you can get Applin down within the first few rounds and evolved into Hydrapple EX. You can use Hydrapple’s ability to help power it up in one turn: Use the ability “Ripening Charge” to attach an energy to Hydrapple EX, then use your one energy attach for the turn to attach the second energy (preferably a legacy energy).

Core Deck Build:

  1. 2 Hydrapple EX
  2. 2 Dipplin
  3. 4 Applin
  4. 4 Teal Mask Ogrepon
